Recipes to Fight Viruses and Boost Immunity
I promised on my last podcast that I would give you five recipes that I use that help with keeping away viruses without using harmful chemicals. I am adding an extra recipe for hand sanitizer that is stronger and used by some medical professionals who create their own.
Here are a few facts about the life of the coronavirus. Disinfectant kills the coronavirus immediately. At room temperature the coronavirus will die in forty-eight hours. In carpet the coronavirus can survive for up to seven weeks.
Note: Always check with a doctor or healthcare provider before using essential oils, especially on children or if you have a medical condition.
Using fresh aloe vera gel isn’t as stable for counter storage so use quickly or find a commercial brand that is pure.
The easiest way to make this recipe is to first create a base. Add the following ingredients together in a dark colored glass bottle. I use the blue or amber colored two- or four-ounce dropper bottles and invert the bottle a couple of times to blend well. Now you have created your base.
40 d. Clove
20 d. Cinnamon
35 d. Orange or Lemon
10 d. Rosemary
15 d. Eucalyptus
Now in a similar sprayer bottle add a few drops of the blend to the bottle and fill with either water, witch hazel or 80 proof or higher of vodka.
If you are using water, then it will need to be used within two weeks. If you add it to witch hazel or vodka it will last indefinitely.
You can learn more about these ingredients and how they work here.
Hand Sanitizer I
5 d. witch hazel
5 d. vitamin E
5 d. fresh aloe or aloe vera gel
5 d. Tea tree oil or (lavender, peppermint, etc.) e.o.’s w/ antiseptic properties.
Drop the tea tree oil into 1 oz. spray or squeeze bottle. Add witch hazel, vitamin E, and aloe vera and mix. Fill the rest of the bottle up with purified water. Add lid and shake vigorously. Make sure to shake before each use.
Hand Sanitizer II (Child Safe)
¼ c. fresh aloe vera or aloe vera gel
20 d. Rosalina or Kidsafe Blend Germ Destroyer by Plant Therapy
3 oz. Silicone tube
Add ingredients in silicone tube and shake.
Both above hand sanitizer recipes are nourishing for your skin while killing germs. This next one is stronger and is used by some healthcare professionals. Do NOT use this recipe on children.
Hand Sanitizer III (Strongest, not to be used on children)
1 T. Rubbing alcohol
1/2 t. Vegetable glycerin (optional)
1/4 c. Aloe vera gel

Mix aloe vera gel, glycerin, and rubbing alcohol in a small bowl. Add cinnamon e.o. and tea tree oil along with a drop or two of other oils of choice. Mix well and add distilled water. Pour into desired spray or pump bottle. Shake well and now your ready to use.
Now that you have sprayed your home and cleaned your hands safely while keeping those unwanted germs away let’s boost your immune system.
