DIY WINDSHIELD WASHER FLUID
Here’s a quick recipe with what you already have at home if you ever run out of windshield washer fluid.
1 Gal. jug
1 T dish soap
½ c. vinegar (I have seen non-sudsing ammonia used but I prefer vinegar.)
1 c. 99% Isopropyl alcohol (prevents freezing)
Pour ½ gallon water into your jug. Add 1 T. dish soap, ½ c. vinegar to your water and then fill the rest of the jug up with water. Once capped tip upside down a couple of times. Now it’s ready to use. During cold months just add 1 c. Isopropyl alcohol to your jug.
TIP: You may add a few drops of blue or green food coloring if you desire, this may help you to recognize it right away. Make sure you label it also.
TIP: If you live in a much colder climate and want to be sure it won’t freeze then place outside overnight on a cold evening. In the morning, if it appears slushy, you need to add a bit more alcohol to it.
So that’s it, quick and easy. As always, keep away from children and pets.
